Education and Outreach

One of SVAM's goals is educational, to reach as wide an audience as possible and to widen the understanding of music. For this reason, we offer free tickets to children accompanied by a paying adult.

We are now going a step further by introducing a younger age group to live classical music, taking the concert to them.

On Friday 3rd December the cellist Stephanie Oade and her piano duo partner Jennie-Helen Moston came to East Bergholt to perform an evening recital for SVAM.

On that Friday morning, they also played a short concert for all the children aged 7-11 at East Bergholt CEVC Primary School. This was was followed by an interactive workshop for a smaller group of children, who already have an interest in music or play an instrument.

The concert and workshop were very successful and much enjoyed by all the children who took part as well as by the performers themselves, who did a wonderful job.

Many of our performers are very interested in education work and we hope that this kind of event will be come regular part of SVAM's season.
